Dawn Poirier earned an MFA in choreography from the University of Iowa, where she received the Iowa Arts Fellowship, and a BFA in modern dance from North Carolina School of the Arts. Her work has been showcased at the American College Dance Festival (2003) and commissioned by Dancers in Company (2002), HSPVA in Houston (2006), and SUNY Fredonia (2005). Since being in New York, she has also enjoyed working with Geraldine Cardiel, Daniel Charon and Philippa Kaye. She has been with VIA for two years and is excited about the company’s continuous exploration.
